About
I create a unique type of photography which occupies a genre all its own, "Photographic Surreal Impressionism". A breed of photographic work that merges the free spirt of expression like that of painting and sculpture with the honesty and sense of moment that only photography can provide. "Photographic Surreal Impressionism" by definition means, photography that expresses the feelings and moods of any given topic in the way it is imaged by the artist. This is the backbone of my work, imagery that completely conveys subject matter in the fashion I see and interpret it.
The work itself is strictly photographic in nature. There is no computer manipulation or the use of any other mediums involved in the creation of the images. I only use a camera and various photographic techniques to produce my images. These techniques have evolved in to a style of shooting I call "Liberum Photography". The "liberum" style of photographing is centered around the need to freely control and project what the camera captures, rather than merely documenting what is in front of the camera. With "liberum" I am able to translate my mental picture of a subject onto something the camera can capture in it's entirety . This basically means my camera becomes more of a blank canvas instead of a just a recording device.
